Playing well!

Nerds for Halloween, though Matt's face reminds me more of Popeye here.

The Mcglue's got us out on their paddle board. Harder than it looks.

Right before my relay race on St. Maarten's Day in November

The things you see driving around her. Just a man with a giant pig on a leash in a puddle on the street. Classic.

Running my leg of the St. Maarten's Day relay race.

An island birthday! 23 Candles.

Hanging out by the pool at our apartment. Spoiled.

Matt studying by the pool.

Our island car, Honda CRV.

On any given night, this is what we look like.

The view from our balcony. The ocean is out there somewhere!

7 Alive. Hilarious.

After a run, snapped a pic of one of the views from the school (above). Matt holding his new textbooks in front of the school, doesn't he look so excited? (below).

With one semester, anyway...

Can you believe Matt has almost completed his first semester of medical school?!?! He has one more test tomorrow morning, and then we are USA-bound early Tuesday.

It seems like a good time for some LewsNews, a little recap and reflection on our first few months of island living. What a roller coaster ride it has been!

I can remember the feeling when the airplane was coming in for landing. I distinctly felt that everything was going to be different. Things were about to change. I could feel the plane lowering more and more in the sky and knew these were the last few moments I had with an old life, an old me.

We sat next to a man who was from St. Maarten. He had the window seat, and I'm sure Matt and I made him uncomfortable with our awkward leaning over him in an obvious attempt to see out the window. He was kind enough to point out some of the other islands, and then to show us where the school was on our final descent. There they were. The unmistakable red roofs of The American University of the Caribbean. Matt's new home for the next 20 months. So, the pictures we'd been looking at the last few months weren't lying. It was possible, a med school in the Caribbean.

My first feelings about St. Maarten? There were two, actually: the reality of heat and humidity, and a true, gripping, make-me-shake-uncontrollably fear. Here's why: at the baggage claim, I helped some other arriving med students we met carry their bags out to the curb. I pulled one rolling bag for one student and on my shoulder carried a hockey bag bigger than myself, and certainly heavier, for another student. After dislocating my shoulder and sweating completely through my shirt, I turned to go back into the airport's bag claim area. It was behind a wall, a wall I now saw was clearly marked, "No Entry," complete with a guard standing watch.

I hadn't brought anything of my own out with me, but instead left everything by the bag claim with Matt. He was still waiting for a few more of our bags to come. That's why I'd offered to help the other students. I didn't think talking to the guard would help because I had no proof that I'd been on a flight, no ticket stub, no passport, no phone to let Matt know I was trapped outside. And even if I could let him know, there was no way he could transport all our luggage out by himself. We barely managed with both of us. He would have to leave some behind, and then we'd both be trapped out here with no way back in to get the rest of our stuff. Great.

The panic was setting in, but I summoned any essence of James Bond I had inside myself, waited for the guard to turn the other way, and slipped back in. I was sure I would hear his voice yelling after me any second. I imagined his footsteps echoing behind me. I pictured myself in a detention room being interrogated, possibly in a language I did not know. And Matt becoming more and more frantic about his missing wife.

None of that happened. At all.

I got back to Matt, shaking, breathing sharply, but it was clear no one was coming after me. And knowing the island a little better now, I bet the guard wouldn't have cared even if I walked right by him, waving. Welcome to St. Maarten.

My next clear memory is meeting Karla Daniel. She was our unofficial spouse-of-another-med-student-sponsor. She and her husband Stephen were and still are literally life savers for Matt and I and our transition to island living.

Anyway, I exited the airport for the second time, with my husband and bags in tow, and possibly more sweaty than before. There was Karla, ready to lighten some of our load, and give us a ride. This was our first taste of what an "island car" is. It is: No air conditioning, no seat belts, no shocks, no breaks, no power steering, and plenty of rust underneath. But you're almost guaranteed to get from point A to point B and that no one will jack your car before during or after that trip. The Daniels inherited the car from someone else for free. Not a bad deal, really.

An island car drives on island roads, and oh, what roads they are. Mainly one road, to be exact. It goes around the whole island. Yep, just the one. And don't worry about traffic lights or stop signs of any kind, all St. Maarten traffic is regulated by two things: round-a-bouts and speed bumps. A more appropriate name might be speed hills or mountains. Oh, and I guess pot holes slow things down too.

Our first speed bump on the island greeted Matt and I by sending our luggage sailing from their stacks in the back of the car and right into the back of our heads. Welcome to St. Maarten. After another smack or two, Matt and I wised up and held the luggage in place with our hands.

Much the rest of our first week and a half here are a blur, but there are a few clear feelings and pictures. Like, the fact that our apartment was not cleared of its previous tenants, so Matt and I were homeless. We stayed in another girl's apartment by the Daniel's (she's now one of our great friends, Jen, but she was gone on her break before the new semester began). I was not happy about continuing to live out of a suitcase, I mean suitcases.

We spent our time gearing up for the start of school. I did a lot of reading. Matt did a lot of flip flopping between stress and excitement. We both got a lot of mosquito bites.

We got pretty good at acting like adopted-Daniels. We ate their food and hung out at their house and I even used their shower. They taxied us around to various grocery stores and to church and generally continued their life-saving ways. We played with their three boys, Elijah, Ethan and Erik, and even saw our first giant iguana.

Oh, the creatures of the island. At any given moment spent outside, you will see one or any combination of stray dogs, stray cats, iguanas, lizards large and small, mosquitoes (of course), centipedes (avoid-they're poisonous), snails ( I accidentally step on them all the time), fireflies (only at night...obviously), and cockroaches.

It was also during this time first spent on the island that I began my month-long dependence on the school's treadmills. I'm talking about running two times a day, 60 - 65 miles a week solely on a treadmill. This was not good for training. Mentally, I was surprisingly okay. Normally a treadmill feels like a death sentence, but the air conditioned, hill-less and safe gym sounded pretty good compared with the alternative. I didn't know where to run outside, or how to run in the heat, or why I'd choose to run on the surrounding hills, or if I'd make it back from a run alive. My sense of danger on the island was overly heightened. Not that there isn't some here, there is! But, I feel much more comfortable with how and when to run now. It's pretty much taken all semester to get to this point however. Let's just say I lost some really good fitness dinking around on the treadmill.

In any case, Matt and I did eventually move into our actual apartment. That was a good day for me. We finally had a home, and a home is exactly what you need most when you uproot and move to an island across the continent and in another country.

There are other big moments, learning to run outside, attending the LDS branch here on the island (my first experiences being called to the Primary), Matt taking tests and endlessly studying, spending time with my awesome neighbor and other best friend (in addition to Karla) Cheyenne and somehow convincing her to run with me at an unholy morning hour two times a week, finding out I like yoga, finding out I like cooking, buying our own "island car," getting internet set up, losing it, and setting it up again, running an island race that somehow made me seem much faster and cooler than I am, getting a new air conditioning unit after our old one kicked the bucket, joining up with a training group every Tuesday and Thursday at an actual track, beach excursions, tutoring the Mcglue boys Ronan and Dillon, torrential down pours of rain and driving through floods, losing power, and of course, more mosquito bites.

Welcome to St. Maarten. We (mostly) love it here.

Loving Lately (again)

Oh hello...two posts right next to each other? Don't you judge me :)

Because, I like the idea of putting up a "Loving Lately" post every now and then becuause you're all dying to know what I like. Or at least, in my self-centered head you do. I mean, I'm still a Lemmon, even though I'm a Lew. DNA!

Okery-dokery here it is

Things I've been loving lately:

1. My hand-held video camera. Sorry, videos not uploading yet again. *frustrated sigh*I have some really good ones! The camera really is sa-weet. As soon as they start actually loading on here, get ready for some video goodness!

2. The three colorful feathers in my hair I got at the Eugene "Saturday Market" or...hippie market... I got them on a whim, but now I really, really like them. They're supposed to last "2 to 4 months." So hoping for 4!!

3. Um..this boy, as usual :)

4. I can't believe I'm saying this, but Yogurtland. I am staunchly anti-frozen yogurt, because it freezes my mouth and doesn't taste nearly as good as ice-cream, so why would I waste my time with it? And I'm bitter that frozen yogurt copy cats are cropping up all over Provo (Spoon me, Spoon it up, Fro-yo, Yogurtland, Fro-Zone, Farr's Fresh, Earthfruits Yogurt-worst name ever-and others, I'm sure) instead of more ice cream places, but alas, I love Yogurtland's Red Velvet Cupcake Batter flavor. It. Is. Delish.

5. My new iPad 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So so so so so not enough so's in the world, so cool! And what occupies my time on it? This game.

Not loving lately...

1. The new NCAA regional/nationals system. Don't get me started, but if it wasn't the way it is, I might be going to Nationals instead of flying myself to Portland. Though, I am stoked to go to Portland too.

2. My videos not uploading to blogger. Boo. What up?!?!

3. Drivers who merge right on top of me and/or cut me off. Almost died a couple times today alone. Great. Blinkers? Looking before you merge? Not driving like a Crazy? Un-learnable, apparently.

That's all for now folks. I guess when it rains, it pours with my blogging. Oh well!!
okay, oKaY, OKAY!

Time for a new, not so whiney (whiny? hmm...), lame-o, boohoo post.

So nothing's like a beautiful Friday in Provo, where the rain has FINALLY left us alone and where I run a crazy workout at practice: one 800 where we run a 43 second 200 followed by a 33 second 200, then repeat with no rest...Craziest 800 meters EVER! Not to mention, with a workout that short (short but hard...my breathing was worthy of mild asthma...) we had a 6 mile cool down. Some cool down.

Back to it being Friday, (Friday, Friday, gettin down on Friday. Yup, stuck in my head) Now I'm just kickin at home, Matt's out playin golf (so cute in his shorts and polo shirt), and I'm Disney Channel-ing it up and perfecting making my mom's cookies.

Look, I finally learned how to make them puffy and round like mom's! Next goal is getting them to taste just as good as mom's. One step at a time people. Anyways, it's been a great day!

There are many things to update! I mean, this is LewsNews after all. And oh, it's good to be a Lew. Just look at me and this cutie!! (this is from Christmas...we're not the best at remembering to take pics...)

First off, Region. It was rainy in Oregon, but I was totally ready after being in rainy Provo. I felt good, and had great position for the first four miles. But, I did not make Nationals. (I'm just getting the bad news out of the way.) The race was slow-fast-slow-really fast-craziness, and after a 17:07 first 5k (SLOW) I was not able to drop a 16:20 5k (FAST) the way the leaders were. Blast this un-fitness of mine! But mom and Jess were there to cheer me on, and I LOVED it. We ate famous Track Town pizza after my race, and my Jess-mess and I ran together the next morning, which is my favorite kind of running to do :)

I was upset though, obviously, since I was 14th and just two places away from qualifying, but being the stubborn, running-loving fool that I am, I've taken matters into my own hands and found a meet in Portland, OR next weekend, where I will run yet another 10k in an attempt to qualify for USA's. Anything to get me back in that BYU uniform! You may call this denial, but I call it "takin it to the max, baby!"

Luckily I have an old teammate, the amazing Anne Heiner, who lives in Portland and is letting me stay with her and willing to drive me around/cheer me on at the race. I'm less than 20 seconds off the "A" standard for USA's so you bet your pants I'm gonna be there chasing after it.

(you don't actually have to bet your pants...unless they're a colorful pair of skinny jeans, then we can talk).

Today my teammate and friend Katie Palmer said, "You're one of the few people I know who actually chooses to run this many 10k's!" Yes, my insanity has been increasing over the years. I know.

Here's me and Katie Palmer (KP, Palm, Palm-Sauce) being the best track roommates EVER.

um...video coming soon I hope. it won't load. but rest assured it's worth waiting for. When I do add it the paragraphs above and below will make more sense...

This is what happens when you're in Eugene for a full four days and you stay in the Shiloh Inn. (Shudder...) It had a "fun" smell. We had actual keys for our rooms. 'Nuff said.

There were many fun videos taken in Eugene. Thanks to Mom and Dad Lew, I have a sweet new hand-held video camera as a graduation gift. Pretty awesome, eh?

I guess I should have talked about Conference first...well I won the 10k there-a nice finish to my MWC career, and BYU's for that matter. (That makes 5 individual MWC titles for me: an indoor 5k, an outdoor 5k, two outdoor 10k's and one cross-country. I am so blessed!)

Dad, Marilyn and Kelsey drove from Colorado Springs to Fort Collins to be awesome cheerleaders! Highlights of the race were the fact that our first mile was faster than the boys' 10k (WE were slow-Morgan and I were talking during the race about how if felt the same as our warm-up pace, so THEY were crawling!) and a long train that went right by and honked the entire time. Interesting? Yes.

Also, I loved hearing my dad yelling the classic cheers, "Breathe!" and "Smooth and easy!" These are my favorite things to hear during a race, well that and how freakin' awesome I look. A little vanity can go a long way to helping you feel good in a race-try it! Feel good, race good, I say. (Even though I often look...not so good...)

Next up, some of our best friends were just accepted to AUC too! (our Caribbean med school) Let's just say the prospect of having a friend there makes me extremely happy! Oh yeah, and Matty will have a study partner too. You know, getting good grades, the whole reason we're going there in the first place...

Speaking of Matty, he will be done with Spring term next week, and then we'll both be working fiends. He'll be selling pest control to the bug-infested Utah masses, and I'll be writing to my heart's content at Utah Valley Magazine. LOVING this, by the way.

On Memorial Day we bbq-ed it up at two awesome parties. First, we grilled everything under the sun at our good friends the Ovuoba's. My personal favorites were the bbq chicken and grilled pineapple, as well as some killer mango salsa, and laughing til I cried with Brianna and Paul's sisters.

Then we did the "Samoan roll" to make room for more food and headed to Bob and Krissy's for more meaty goodness. Bob and Matt were in bbq heaven with chicken, bacon-wrapped steak and bratwurst, which it turns out, Emilee LOVES. Kinsey now calls Matt, "Match" (progressed from "Man").

We had a great time talking and playing wii, which everyone, especially Alyssa, is really good at except me. Poor Emilee got stuck with being my tennis partner. I ended up handing her the controller in shame and she played for both of us. The most entertainment however came from Krissy and Bob going head to head in tennis. Priceless.

Uh...back to track (not a lot of topics to choose from in my life...sorry) we had our team banquet on Wednesday. Even though I'm not leaving yet, it made me realize even more how much I love and will miss these amazing girls. Oh BYU distance, I will love you forever.

Kendy and Katherine, they're so mini! Love running with these two.

The 10k-ers. I know you're jealous...

The group! Can you believe I've been on this team for 5 years?!?!

Upcoming, we're getting psyched for the summer, which is good because Provo finally seems to have remembered it's June and stopped being freezing and raining. Even though we'll be working quite a bit, we've got family coming for the 4th of July and we're going to family in August. CANNOT WAIT FOR JESSICA LEW TO COME HOME AUGUST 3RD!!!

And, let me check my crystal ball: I'm seeing, I'm seeing, Mickey Mouse ears, giant corn dogs, pizza from space and all in all the happiest place on earth. (Please, Matty?)

Hi rain. Would you stop please? Thanks.

'Sup peeps. Or prolly just mom.

There's nothing like horrible spring weather to bring down my spirits.

I ran in pouring rain today. I ran in rain yesterday. I'll run in more rain tomorrow. And Friday. Saturday might be nicer, but another storm comes after that. Then it will get sunny in Provo right when I leave for Oregon next week. And Oregon is sunny right now, but forecasted for rain as soon as I get there. Awesome. Rain Rain Rain Rain Rain. More than halfway through May.

In honor of Rain, I made broccoli cheese soup again today. Yes, I am just that talented.

So...

If I was perfect:

I'd be folding laundry right now.
I wouldn't have eaten brownies and cookies. Yes, plural on both counts.
I wouldn't be a nail biter.
My bangs wouldn't be so ridiculously long.
I'd be getting ready for bed.
These cheekies of mine wouldn't look like a chipmunk's. Plural brownies and cookies.

Since I'm not:

I'm watching Disney channel.
I'm feeling gross post brownies and cookies.
I'm chewing my nails a little.
My bangs ARE so long
Probably won't be in bed til midnight
Chipmunk cheeks=me.

So tomorrow...

7am wake up
8am uv magazine
1pm practice-8 miles and a 30 minute tempo?
3pm talk to people about shoes, pronation, injuries, socks, hear their running life story...
8pm hopefully close the store...but people will probably come in at 7:59pm
9pm Disney Channel
11pm eyes melt out of my head
12pm pass out

Exciting. Emphasis on the ex.

Loving Lately...

Okay, I meant to post this last week, and didn't do it. Now it feels like old LewsNews, but I'm still going to post it.

Things I've been loving lately:
(or loving last week...)

-Matt, of course

-this song

-white chocolate (on my pretzels, on my strawberries, and just by its pretty delicious little self)

-this tv show. Yep, I LOVE it.

-my first pair of Toms shoes. They rock.

-this blog. It is hilarious. I think we would be excellent friends.

-watching Workout Wednesdays on Flotrack

-looking at pics of our Caribbean apartment...sorry I can't figure out how to get those pictures up here. Sad.

Things I have not been loving lately:

-rainy weather right after sunny weather. Oh how you tease me Utah spring.

-not seeing Matt very much because we are busy bees. Welcome to real life!!

-hurdle crew at home track meets. LOATHE, in fact. Set up your own hurdles, you hurdlers. I can only carry one at a time, and I get an anxiety attack every time they get stuck when I try to change the height.

-The thought that my days of eating Zupas and Costa Vida are numbered.

Well, that's the list for now. I'm planning to get an update from the Conference Championship this past weekend up soon too. I bet you're all so excited now that you know that. Oh, the anticipation!

A post, a post, a post, a post! Would you, Could you write a blog post?

Um Double What What?? Yep, another post comin at ya! (Ha side note for Jess and any other super old Disney Channel fans: "Cleopatra, comin' at ya! Cleopatra, comin at ya!" talk about a one hit wonder. Or...a no hit wonder)

Maybe we'll get some pics in this time. Except I can no longer save the iPhone photos I email to myself. Sad? YES. What, do I have to learn to use a real camera again? How could you iPhone? I love you so, but this has put a wedge in our relationship.

Some classic graduation pics, and solid proof that we're actually done! Or...I am. Matt is soon. So, high five cougar I run by almost daily!
Another classic grad photo. Also, if I was a freshman on the cross country team, I would be compelled to lean over and kiss that Matty of mine, simply because we are on the cougar. Luckily, there was a long line of people waiting to take pics in their caps and gowns, so I refrained. Notice: the shoes. Yep, from my wedding :)
Matt and I at the athlete graduation banquet. I got my own mini cougar statue. I promise I won't try to ride it. The food was most excellent. Ask if my family got desserts before anyone else: they did.
Me and the cutest messin' around.

Now, what's been a goin on since last week? Well ladies and gentlemen, I have started a job! A real one! Meaning not lifeguarding or shoe-selling! Okay, technically it is another internship, but it is paid, so I'm counting it as a bona fide job. Utah Valley Magazine decided to let me come run-a-muck for the summer. No, I'm going to do a good job I promise. I'm currently in charge of the calendar of events, featuring someone awesome from Payson and finding cool products made locally in Utah Valley. I'm also looking for cool ways to serve/volunteer in Utah Valley. Got some suggestions? Hook a sister up!

Random interruption: I have the tv on, but the sound way low because I'm home alone and I just like to have it on. (Matt is playing bball.) Anyways, I just saw a commercial for diapers that look like denim. Really? Then I sit there and think, "I wonder what the commercial is saying?" But do I turn up the volume? Nope. And before I know it America's Funniest Home Videos is back on, soundless. This is also to ensure that the neighbors will hear my solitary laugh better.

Anyways, I put a full 8 hours in today. Meaning I opened my eyes to this rainy spring world at 6am to get in a run and a shower before showing up to the office at 8:00. I don't like running alone for many reasons, though I don't blame anyone for not wanting to run with me at that time. But, one reason is I get out there and become indecisive about how many miles to do. I started with a plan to run 6, then 4 more after work.

As I ran Provo's streets, I thought, "Nah, I don't want to run later, I'll just do 8 right now and be done for the day."

Then I think, "Boo, that's long and I don't have time, I can run 4 later no problem."

Followed closely by, "What if it's raining later and my hair will be newly washed, and I can't waste that miracle!"

To which I eventually settle on, "Okay, I'll do 7. That way I can run later if it's not raining, or I don't have to if it is."

What really happened? I accidentally ran 7.5, because I forgot that I ran from home, not from the school. And did I run four later? Well, it wasn't raining, and a deal's a deal. That makes a grand total of 11.5 alone today. I guess I'd better start getting used to it. Anyone wanna move to the Caribbean for the specific purpose of being my running buddy?

Maybe I'll take out an ad: "Looking for running partner. Must be willing to live on a Caribbean island where the weather is perpetually 82 degrees and humid and willing to run anywhere from 6-12 miles a day at 7-ish minutes per mile. Preference will be given to former BYU runners, and also to those who love ice-cream and the Disney Channel."

Okay, to save on time and advertising costs, Jessica, will you just move there with me? K, good.

I mean, this could be us for the next 20 months!!
Yeah, yeah. I know you have Jason and stuff. Just consider it? You're very qualified for this position.

Now, to change the subject without any transition whatsoever, I make FANTASTIC broccoli cheese soup. Thank you Lion House Cookbook! And Matt likes it, he likes it! I think my cooking skills are actually improving. I needed half and half for the soup, but bought whipping cream. I didn't realize this until I was already pouring it generously into the pot. It seemed too thick, so da da-da da! I stopped pouring at the halfway point and did the other half with milk. The soup was SAFE!

What did I do with the rest of the whipping cream? Made whipped cream, duh! Sadly, I am ruined by canned whipped cream. I LOVE it, I spray it directly into my mouth, thank you very much. So, this homemade stuff is good, but different. I can't have it straight the way I do from the can. It works great with: french vanilla hot cocoa, strawberries, a spoonful of peanut butter and cinnamon toast crunch cereal. It doesn't work so well with pretzels and...actually that's it.

Well, that's the LewsNews, which is mostly CecilyLewsNews. Oops. Uh...Matt is busy memorizing a million things for anatomy. He LOVES his anatomy book. And he is becoming less freaked out by cadavers. In fact, he is inspired by the muscles on the cadaver he is currently studying with. Hence, more frequent gym trips this week. Good job honey man!

Hey, if I put a pest control shirt and hat on your cadaver, will you be inspired to make more frequent trips to Salt Lake to sell? Ah, let's face it, I will NOT be touching a cadaver. So, Matty you're safe.

Oh, curse my totally biased blogging.

Here's some more of my writing that is in no way objective (thank goodness):

Goings on...

Okay WHAT? Who deleted all the posts I've been faithfully putting up for the last year?

Oh wait...I haven't posted in a year.

Well, the world keeps spinnin, and the Lews keep livin and I guess it's time for some updating.

The biggest LewsNews is that Matt and I have GRADUATED! Well, I've graduated. Matt and I both walked, but he has just one more class to go. It's okay to have a little pre-celebration, right? Well the fam came and it was such a great weekend. Our partying was complete with Brick Oven eating, movie watching, Easter egg dying and of course plenty of graduation pictures. We were sad to get back to real life when it was done.

And what exactly is our "real life" now that it's Spring? Well, as mentioned, Matt is taking his class, along with anatomy just for some pre-med school preparation. He is also selling pest control in Salt Lake on the days he doesn't have class. Should be a fun term, right? I am doing my best to cheer him on from home, "Go Matt! Knock them' doors! Sell that pest control!" However, I feel like toilet papering the crazy lady who yelled Matt off her porch today, and then proceeded to follow him around in her car and scream at him to get out of the neighborhood. Matt said her license plate said "SENILE" so, nuff' said I guess.

My days revolve around running as usual. Not a bad life, eh? I'm getting excited for the Conference Championships in two weeks at Colorado State University! Hopefully I've got 3 more 10k's to go before my college career has to end. Bittersweet.

I'll also be starting a new internship in a week, this time with Utah Valley Magazine. Not sure what I'll be doing exactly, but I'm excited to see how things work at a magazine as opposed to a newspaper or an online publication.

Possibly the biggest and most exciting LewsNews is that we are officially going to the Caribbean for medical school. Hmm, what else do I say about that? Matt wants to be an MD. We like adventure. We're tired of snow. It all adds up really. Start planning your vacations now because we'll want visitors! I just bought a new swimsuit, so I guess I'm all ready to go.

I'm sure that will make a good post later: what we're packing to the Caribbean. Don't be surprised if it all ends up being pirate-related gear, i.e. sword, skull and cross bones flag, parrot, eye patch, peg leg. My brother Bob did ask me today if we were moving to Tortuga. Oh, if only.

Bob also has Chewbacca's famous growl as his phone's email notification ringtone. I have the coolest brothers.

I also recently ran my first 10k race in almost two years! It was so fun to be back at Mt. SAC and hear my wonderful coach, teammates, and family cheering me on. Yep, Matt, Matt's parents, my mom and Jess and Jason all braved the chilly night air and and faithfully yelled for 25 laps! Then we hit up Disneyland the next day, which was AWESOME! As proved in past LewsNews posts, we are addicted to the Happiest Place on Earth.

Hoping to be more consistent. And more entertaining too. This was just like a classic catch-up journal entry. Sigh, I guess I'm out of practice.
